art museum revisited - continuation

Since the Museum's founding in 1876, its renowned collections have grown to include more than 225,000 works of art.

East Asian Art

Tomb Figure of a Bactrian Camel. Made in Chang-an, China in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), 618-907. Artist/maker unknown, Chinese Earthenware with sancai (tricolor) glaze

American Art Gallery 119, first floor.

In 1964, Warhol sold these Brillo boxes for $350.00 each.

It was during the 1960s that Warhol began to make paintings of famous American products such as Campbell's Soup Cans from of course the Campbell Soup Company and Coca-cola, as well as paintings or series silkscreens of celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie O. He founded the factory his studio during those times.

I love almost all of Andy's work and his Philosophy.

Correct me if am wrong but I think this is from Edna Andrade. What a great optical illusion art!

Ekkkkk ano ito???

I am lusting for this sculpture, I want this in my room! Grabe no? Kahit istatwa pinagseselosan! Charing! Hindi na ako masyadong maka-concentrate nitong time na to dahil nag-iinarte na naman po sya!

Actually before we went to this Museum, she's giving me crap in the car. [Tampuhera grabe. Ewan ko kung kultura na nila ito.] So, ayun na nga nagaaway kami sa kotse at uuwi na daw sya... I want to go home! Show me the way home!

So tao lang ako, nagkakamali. Aba at ipinara nga nya, antagal namin sa highway no at talaga namang sinabi pa sa akin Get out of the car now!

We went to the restroom and as an OC person I am... I am really paranoid about germs and bacteria so whenever I go grab the doorknob handle especially in public restrooms I always put a napkin on my hand so I won't be touching it. But at that time Manat did it for me. She opened the doors for me... After that we sorta not ok... I know already somethings wrong with her... The way she looks at me... So I kind of get it already, I asked her "ohhh give me the napkin that you used, I'll put it in the trash!" Sinagot ako ng pabalang! Why did you just asked me now? You should have asked me couple of minutes ago!

Why do you always give me hard time? Why are you so bitching on me? You know what? You have an attitude problem! Ahaaa ahahaha...] Namimihasa sya pag inaamo ko sya... Ganito ang pakikipagsapalaran ko sa jowa ko!

After 5 mins...

I want to go home! I want to go home! Take me home. Ito lang ang nasabi nya for like 30 minutes! Sabi ko sige ipagsigawan mo pang TAKE ME HOME, TAKE ME HOME ka jan...

Pwede ba!]
Walk-out-walk-out tapos gusto lang palang pahabol.

[Kinausap ko sya after nyan, just to give her heads up... I am pretty pissed off! I cannot deal with crap like that! And I am almost sick and tired of all this Sh**...] Nakakasawa no... Sa totoo lang! Nakakapagod...

He he he... I am way toooo old for that!

art museum revisited

Philadelphia Museum of Art presents Ike Taiga. This presentation marks the first time exhibition in the US that has focused on the eighteenth-century Japanese master of ink painting.

Widely regarded as a world-class art institution, the Philadelphia Museum of Art includes not only its iconic Main Building, but also the Rodin Museum (also on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway) and several other historic sites. The recently acquired Perelman Building (across the street from the Main Building) is projected to open in 2007 and will house for public display a few of the Museum's more popular collections.

Last Sunday we went to art museum in Philadelphia, This is my very first time to go inside that Museum! It's really funny thou... Cause I have lived in this area for almost 10 years and I would do my usual walks in the city before, but just last Sunday is really my first time to go inside.

Alot of interesting things inside the Museum. It has 3 floors of just anything and everything. From Asian, European, Mid-Eastern to Pop Art they got it!

The highlights of the Asian collections include paintings and sculpture from China, Japan, and India; furniture and decorative arts, including major collections of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean ceramics; a large and distinguished group of Persian and Turkish carpets; and rare and authentic architectural assemblages such as a Japanese teahouse, a Chinese palace hall, and a sixteenth-century Indian temple hall. (How come there is no Filipino collections here? How biased can they get! LOL.)

The European collections, dating from the Medieval era to the present, encompass Italian and Flemish early Renaissance masterworks; strong representations of later European paintings, including French Impressionism and Post-Impressionism; sculpture, with a special concentration in the works of Auguste Rodin; decorative arts; tapestries; furniture; the second largest collection of arms and armor in the United States; and period rooms and architectural settings ranging from the facade of a Medieval church in Burgundy to a superbly decorated English drawing room by Robert Adam.

This Japanese tea house is very cool! [Way cool! I hope I can have this too, in my lovely new gay friendly neighborhood!] He he heeh.

The literati culture also acknowledged and encouraged individuality, and even eccentricity, in artists. The free and open atmosphere of eighteenth-century Japan set the stage for a period of creative experimentation and the flourishing of literature and art by a remarkable group of talented men and women. Two of them, Ike Taiga (1723–1776) and Tokuyama Gyokuran (1727–1784) are the subjects of a separate special exhibition, Ike Taiga and Tokuyama Gyokuran: Japanese Masters of the Brush

Location American Art Gallery 119, first floor.

When I think of Pop Art, the only person that pops in my mind is Andy Warhol! He has been the subject of numerous retrospective exhibitions, books and documentary films since his death in 1987. He is generally acknowledged as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century.

can I be an artist? (part two)

continuation of part one...

I got tired of staying at home (trust me on this one, very boring!) and just partying most of my nights wasting all of my Mum's monies, after a year I finally decided to go back to school. So I enrolled my self to study at some stupid school with some stupid medical degree. I was fun, I get to stay away from home, meet a few interesting people here and there and I meet alot of potential girlfriends too! Not to brag when I was younger alot of girls and boys would beg me to just have coffee with them! [Malamang mga walang pang kape! LOL]

Fast forward...

Yesterday while talking to Manat, Ohh you know what my friends tell me about you? That you seem nice and so good looking! Yeah you are nice I think, I dunno and very good looking, I bet when you were much younger your much more better looking compared than now! But you know what, the first time I saw you kind of you don't look like what you look today... Your face is sorta yellow and you look kind of tired! But now your face is reddish and you looked relaxed now. [Leche! Yellow ano ako may jaundice?

Balik tanaw ulit...

After spending alot of time and effort at some stupid school studying some stupid medical course Finally called it quits... I snapped one day and told myself I can't take this sh*t anymore and not happy with what I have, hindi ko kayang mabuhay ng araw-araw mga patay ang makikita ko... Hindi ko kayang mag kunwari... I know my Dad's gonna be upset with this, I have to do what I have to do...

You see I am very Impulsive person, kung ano nasa isip ko at gusto kong gawin... Gagawin ko... Ng walang sekantots! [I sometimes think that I am suffering from a bipolar disorder and or ADHD he he he...]

After a month or two my ass was back again to school, now at some stupid business school with a stupid major! Tapos eto ako ngayon business ang kinakarir?($@$^) You might want to know why did I get back to school? Nothing... AS IN NOTHING! Maybe just for the heck of it..., for me to do something and not get bored. Again I meet alot of interesting people there, not just ordinary people... People who really has some serious connections and money$ and power.

- Gi-nang-up po nila ako Ate Charo!

can I be an artist? (part one)

I love street performers, I love this kind of art. [Very entertaining and not to say it's free!] But sometimes I wonder if they do this as a career or just for fun... Cause if I will do this kind of hustling I would not do it for fun nor for monies... I'd do it for peoples attention! He he he...
[Oh how I miss the BBoys and BGirls of Rittenhouse!]

When I was younger, I really wanted to study arts. [It is really my passion.] But my family doesn't want me to... They keep asking me after I finish school what am I gonna be with that?, I just say hmmm I guess an artist right? LOL.
They beg me to pick another major... So what I did was think-think-think-think, I really did alot of thinking like if I am still gonna study even I know that am not gonna be happy with what they wanted me to do and want me to be. I even skip school for a year. [See it took me alot of thinking.] I stayed at home most of that day and not work, just at home during and sleeping all day and at night I party! [This was my life back then, kind of my scapegoat.] I was frustrated. I was depress just thinking I can't have what I want.

To be continued...

Color me

I've took my girl to a local farm to pick our own fruit. So far, we've picked strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches and blackberries. I just took her and her friends to the farm this morning for our third and final batch of peaches and in a week or two we will go back and pick apples. It's really a fun thing for the kids - they can get dirty and they get to see where their food comes from -- and the parents, too. It's really a fun activity.

But sometimes I noticed that she easily gets bored doing this every time.

As a parent I wanted to know what more activities I can give her and still have fun...

She's pretty tired of theme parks, zoo's, park, play grounds, the library, her barbie and let alone play dates that I make with her other friends.

I dunno but she finds the computers very interesting! For reals! Not just that... She likes going to the cyberspace.

Yeah for whatever it’s called, the majority of kids in developed nations are now going online to exchange electronic mail (E-mail) and instant messages; participate in chat groups; post and read messages in social networking sites, “surf” the world wide web; and many other online activities.

Children are no exception in fact they are more likely to be online than adults.

Personal computers are no longer the only method used for accessing the Internet. Children can go online from personal computers at home, a friend’s house, in school, a library, club, or cafe. Many game consoles can be connected to the Internet and used for chatting and other online interaction. It is also possible to access the Internet on mobile devices such as cellular telephones and other handheld devices. In other words children don’t have to be in the company of responsible adults to use the Internet. Sometimes I think too much too. Am just worried about my kid!

There are no censors on the Internet. Anyone in the world — companies, governments, organizations, and individuals — can publish material on the Internet. A service provider links you to these sites, but it can’t control what is on them. It’s up to individuals to make sure that they behave in a way that’s safe and appropriate.

As a parent I think... I just have to supervised her regarding this matter.

Are you like me? Looking for some activities that your child can do this Summer that's not gonna bore them to death?

What does your child likes? Does your child have interests in arts? Maybe you can introduce them the Coloring Pages

It is fun! Specially for teen girls, cuz they specialize in contents that is made specially to suit their needs. (Teen girls and I think will work for any kids too.)
